NI-DAQ 7.3 contains three Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), which are libraries of functions or VIs, attributes, and properties for programming your device. These APIs are Traditional NI-DAQ, NI-DAQmx, and NI-SWITCH.

NI-DAQmx 7.3 is the latest measurement services software for your data acquisition and signal conditioning devices. NI-DAQmx 7.3 sets the standard for ease-of-use and performance through:

  1. Automatic code generation with the DAQ Assistant
  2. Custom scaling to engineering unit with virtual channels and TEDS plug-and-play sensors
  3. Dynamic display of screw terminal connections for channels
  4. Cleaner code development with new VIs and functions
  5. Up to 1000 times faster performance with multi-threading and optimized single-point I/O
  6. Improved Real-Time performance with LabVIEW

The installation files for NI-DAQ 7.3 are spread across two different volumes. The first volume, CD1, contains the components necessary for installing NI-DAQmx and Traditional NI-DAQ. The second volume, CD 2, contains the components necessary to install NI-Switch and all of the NI-DAQ device documentation. If you only want to install NI-DAQmx and/or Traditional DAQ, you only need to download the first volume, NIDAQ730CD1.zip. Note that when running the installer, you will need to deselect NI-Switch from the list the features to be installed.

Installation Instructions:

  1. Create a temporary folder on your local hard drive.
  2. Extract the NIDAQ730CD1.zip file into the folder created in Step 1. This will create the installation files necessary for installing NI-DAQmx and Traditional NI-DAQ.
  3. To install NI-Switch and/or the device documentation, create a second temporary folder on your local hard drive and extract NIDAQ730CD2.zip into it. This will create the installation files necessary for installing NI-Switch and/or the device documentation.
  4. To launch the NI-DAQ installer, run the setup.exe program created in Step 2.
  5. To launch the NI-DAQ Device Documentation Browser, run the setup.exe created in step 3 and follow the on-screen instructions.
